Mark Ruffalo Makes Last-Minute Plea To Voters Considering Jill Stein

Mark Ruffalo shared a video on social media in a last-minute plea to voters who are unsure whether to choose the Democratic nominee Kamala Harris or the Green Party nominee Jill Stein on their ballots.
The actor posted a clip on X, formerly Twitter, with the Palestinian political activist Rania Batrice, outlining the reasons why they urge voters to choose Harris not Stein.
Ruffalo said that they are among those “outraged” by the Biden administration’s stance on Israel’s war in Gaza, which Batrice followed up saying that amid “deep devastation,” they are choosing to vote for Harris “not because she’s done enough but because we believe we can push her to move beyond rhetoric and into an actual commitment to uphold our very own U.S. laws as well as international humanitarian law.”
Ruffalo, who has long been outspoken on the issue, continued saying he felt voters have been put in an “impossible position,” but said that another Donald Trump presidency would lead to “even more pain and struggle for our allied communities.”
Both Ruffalo and Batrice stressed that a vote for Stein over Harris would ultimately make a Trump presidency more likely, as Stein is not considered likely to win the presidency.
Ruffalo’s post has accumulated more than 1.2 million views since it was posted on November 4. Comments have been disabled, but it has received 6,800 shares and 24,000 likes.
Stein has centered her stance on the conflict during the campaign, and has found support among Muslim and Arab American communities. In an interview with Newsweek in September she said she does not believe Harris will win the election.
In an opinion piece for Newsweek, Stein wrote, “I’m on the ballot in enough states to win, and I’m offering a real choice for voters who are hungry for a better way forward.”
The Democratic party is urging voters to forgo support for Stein at the ballot box in order to keep Trump out of office.
Newsweek has contacted the Stein and Harris campaigns via email for comment.
The race between Harris and Trump is extremely close. On the day of the election, final polls and projections put both candidates’ chances of winning the election largely neck and neck, meaning a small number of votes in critical swing states could decide who heads to the White House.
